Pinglestone Estate is managed in accordance with a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, regenerative farming and agroecological principles. Sustainability is embedded in the strategic management of the estate and guides all viticultural and land-use decisions.

The estate covers 50 hectares, combining wine production with the active preservation of natural ecosystems. Approximately 30% of the land is permanently dedicated to biodiversity, ensuring balance between agricultural activity and environmental responsibility

Pinglestone is a proud member of Sustainable Wines of Great Britain and operates under a 10-year Biodiversity Management Plan, developed in collaboration with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Ecological performance is monitored through monthly surveys of flora and fauna, enabling a structured and data-driven approach to biodiversity management.

Viticultural practices exclude the use of herbicides and insecticides. Soil health is systematically monitored, and vineyard management is adapted at block level using drone mapping and solar radiation analysis.Natural biostimulants are employed to support vine health while maintaining environmental integrity.

The Land

Our chalk soils, diverse habitats and regenerative farming practices help create healthy vines, rich biodiversity and a thriving landscape.

Situated near Alresford, at the meeting point of the River Itchen and the chalk-fed streams of the River Arle, the vineyard is rooted in one of England’s most distinctive geological environments. The chalk soils, renowned for their drainage and mineral precision, provide ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes destined for sparkling wine.

We cultivate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris, varieties carefully selected for their ability to express both freshness and complexity in this unique terroir. Each parcel is farmed with close attention and respect for the land, allowing every grape to be harvested at optimal maturity.

Beehives

Our beehives support pollinators across the estate, encouraging biodiversity and playing an important role in the health of our vineyard ecosystem.

Our beehives occupy a special place at Pinglestone, nestled beside the woodland that overlooks our premium Adonis Pinot Noir vineyard. Having recently returned from a temporary stay at our Lovington vineyard, they are once again thriving at the heart of the estate.

As part of our commitment to regenerative viticulture, the bees play an important role in supporting the wider ecosystem. Surrounded by wildflower margins, hedgerows and protected habitats, they help pollinate the diverse plant life that flourishes across the estate.

The hives sit alongside our bug hotel, affectionately known as The Rambler's Tavern, which provides shelter for a wide variety of insects and contributes to the rich biodiversity of the vineyard.

Bees are among nature's most important pollinators, and their presence is a reflection of the healthy environment we work hard to nurture. Together with our wildlife conservation projects, grazing sheep and pesticide-free approach, they help ensure Pinglestone remains a haven for nature.
